Online Bingo Continues to Grow

Despite the recession more and more players are still going online to play bingo according to some new research. A study by bingo information website BingoPort.co.uk has revealed that the number of online bingo players in the UK has grown by 80 percent from the period of 1st May to 31st October this year.
This may be surprising to some people as the UK has fallen into recession during this period but the figures so far, certainly back up the old saying that gambling is recession-proof.
The sheer availability of online bingo websites, the increasing number of people with broadband connections, the smoking ban, online bingo TV ads, some great bingo promotions and the fact it is now very fashionable could all be factors explaining why online bingo is still growing at a fast rate during a time of economic hardship.
Scott Logan of BingoPort.co.uk said about the findings, “We have been tracking the UK online bingo industry for over 18 months now and we are starting to see some fascinating and positive trends coming through. We are of course watching the UK and global financial crisis closely, but our data suggests active online bingo player numbers should continue to rise in the foreseeable future.”
