A Leeds mum who won the top prize of GBP50,000 while playing bingo at Mayfair Bingo on a night out has lost it all within 12months. Life after her bingo win was great. She split the money with a friend who gave her GBP20 to play.
She spent the rest on a car and driving lessons, furniture, holidays and weekends away, a new TV and then the rest on living. Now over a year on she has nothing left and cannot afford to send her kids to school every day. She has sold everything she possibly can and has been applying for all possible benefits.
Bingo is a great game, many love to play and many people do win. But a win does not necessarily set you up for life, you have to be smart with your winnings. This Leeds mum is now struggling with day to day life, told that she has thrown away her money in which could have kept and fed her family. Bingo is there to enjoy, not to make life harder.
