Mecca Bingo have issued a statement saying that both their land-based customers and employees are against the government’s increase in bingo tax from 15 percent to 22 percent.

BLIND BINGO PLAYER CAN PLAY AUDIBLE BINGO

A bingo player has won the right to use audible bingo cards to play with in bingo halls. Joanna Richardson from Rochester has impaired vision and uses electronic audible bingo cards so she can play bingo. However, she had to put this on silent mode before winning the right to use it.
The electronic card beeps when she hits a bingo. Other players complained about the noise and therefore she was restricted from using her audible bingo card. Despite this, she made a complaint to the Racing and Wagering Board and they ruled that blind players are allowed to use the audible bingo card in bingo halls. This ruling should encourage more blind people to enjoy a game of bingo.
